This Catalytic Oxidation system, designed by Jiangsu Ruiding Environmental Engineering Co. for Qingdao Siyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., treats volatile emissions from chemical product manufacturing processes and loading/transportation operations. The system handles 650 Nm³/h of tank area volatile gas plus 350 Nm³/h of loading volatile gas within a 20×10 meter footprint, featuring a three-stage condenser recovery unit, reheater, catalytic reactor, and electric heater.
The project achieved mechanical completion on October 30, 2022, completed commissioning on November 20, 2022, and began official production in early December 2022.
Operating Principle
Gas containing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) is preheated in a heat exchanger before entering the Catalytic Recuperative Oxidizer (CO). The preheated gas reaches the catalyst's working temperature, where an exothermic reaction converts pollutants into carbon dioxide and water vapor. Clean hot flue gas then transfers thermal energy to incoming air through the heat exchanger before being discharged through a chimney.
Using catalysts with different oxidation temperatures allows for lower inlet temperatures (250-305°C), reducing energy requirements while maintaining oxidation efficiency. Heat released during the reaction in the catalytic bed raises the chamber temperature, optimizing energy savings based on VOC concentration and calorific value.
