The Thermal Oxidizer (TO) system processes high-calorific waste liquids (atomized with 0.5MPaG steam) and low-calorific wastewater (atomized with 0.7MPAG compressed air). The combustion chamber ensures flue gas residence time of ≥ 2 seconds and maintains temperature of ≥ 1100°C.
The waste heat boiler recovers thermal energy to generate byproduct superheated steam at 4.0MPaG/450°C, incorporating membrane walls, superheaters, economizers, and an air preheater (installed only in Unit #1).
The flue gas treatment system includes baghouse filtration with pulse-jet cleaning, selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) denitrification with ammonia injection within 850-1050°C temperature range, and an induced draft fan for compliant emissions discharge. The system features reserved interfaces for future installations including quench tower, dry sorbent injection system, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit.
Operating Principle
The Direct Thermal Oxidizer (DTO) initially heats the combustion chamber to the set temperature using fuel. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are then introduced and decompose into CO₂ and water at high temperatures, releasing significant heat. External equipment such as heat exchangers and boilers recover thermal energy from the purified high-temperature flue gas to achieve energy savings and reduced consumption.
Ruiding provides comprehensive system design based on factors including airflow, composition, concentration of VOCs to be treated, and desired removal efficiency. When waste gas concentration is sufficiently high, the system can operate without fuel input, maintaining furnace temperature through self-sustaining combustion at moderate Lower Explosive Limits (LELs).
