The integrated system combines a regenerative thermal incinerator (RTO) and direct-fired incinerator (TO), processing 60,000 Nm³/h of waste gas (RTO) and 2,700 Nm³/h of high- and low-carbon waste gas (TO). The RTO preheats 42,000 Nm³/h of waste gas to 180°C for carbon fiber production lines, while the TO generates 3.7 t/h (2.3 MPaG/300°C) of superheated steam for commercial sale.
RTO System Operation
The five-chamber RTO processes low-concentration waste gas through high-temperature decomposition at 900°C. Post-combustion flue gas passes through an air preheater for heat recovery, warming fresh air to 180-200°C for reuse. After cooling, emissions comply with all regulatory standards.
TO System Operation
Featuring a "furnace-boiler integrated" water-cooled wall design, the TO efficiently incinerates high-concentration waste gas exceeding 900°C. High-temperature flue gas passes through a waste heat boiler system (including superheater, evaporator, and economizer) for energy recovery, followed by baghouse filtration to ensure compliant emissions.
Operating Principle
The RTO consists of insulated chambers filled with high-temperature ceramic media. Polluted air enters through an energy recovery chamber where ceramic media preheats it before reaching the oxidation chamber. As air moves through the bed, temperature rises rapidly. The oxidation reaction occurs in the combustion chamber, converting pollutants into CO₂ and water vapor while releasing significant thermal energy.
Hot, clean gas exits through the second recovery bed, transferring heat to the ceramic media. In the next cycle, the process stream reverses direction, utilizing stored heat to preheat incoming air. Periodic switching of inlet, outlet, and purge processes completes preheating, oxidation, heat storage, and release stages. This heat storage process reuses thermal energy from oxidation, reducing fuel consumption for preheating.
To maintain optimal heat recovery efficiency, the process stream direction is regularly switched using automatic diverter valves controlled by the PLC system.
